Dates: 26th & 27th December 2024
Participants: 45 BBA students and 2 faculty members, Kangeyam Institute of Commerce
Overview:
The Department of BBA organized an industrial visit to MILKYMIST over two days, providing students with hands-on exposure to the dairy processing industry. The visit was meticulously planned to bridge theoretical learning with practical industry operations.
Day 1 & 2 Activities:
At 10:30 AM on both days, we were warmly received by the industry officials. They provided a brief introduction to the facility, outlined the expected disciplinary conduct, and set the stage for an informative tour. Students were grouped into pairs and escorted by dedicated coordinators to ensure a comprehensive understanding of each process.
We had the opportunity to tour two distinct plants within the facility. The first plant focused on the initial stages of milk processing, while the second showcased the intricate process of cheese manufacturing. Each segment of the visit was carefully explained in simple, clear terms, making the complex procedures easily understandable.
Key Learnings:
- Milk Processing: Students observed how raw milk is treated, processed, and packaged, gaining insight into quality control and hygiene standards.
- Cheese Manufacturing: The briefing detailed the transformation of processed milk into various types of cheese, highlighting both traditional methods and modern technological interventions.
- Industry Practices: Throughout the visit, the officials emphasized the importance of maintaining rigorous standards and efficient workflow in food processing industries.
Conclusion:
The MILKYMIST visit was a highly educational experience that provided students with a clear, practical understanding of dairy processing—from milk handling to cheese production. The well-organized tour not only enriched their academic knowledge but also offered valuable insights into potential career paths in the food processing sector.
